The first…Starrcade

Off the back of WWE’s own Starrcade ‘event’, Ash and Joel dedicate episode two of Wrestling Origins to the first-ever Starrcade shows. Firstly they go all the way back to 1983 for the very first wrestling pay-per-view and it’s very much wrestling from a bygone era. Ric Flair and Harley Race are main eventing, but there’s much more to discuss including dodgy TV production, the wackiness of Bugsy McGraw and the most unnecessary post-match beatdown you’ll ever see. We then turn attention to the first-ever WCW Starrcade as Lex Luger shares the main event slot with Flair, and enjoy a more familiar nostalgic feel to 1988’s showpiece. Plus chat on dropkick’s, Dusty Rhodes and even a cameo from the Wrestling Origins new mascot (pipe down!).
